In Diablo 4 Season 15, the Cabochon Merchant becomes available after you kill a Portal Prankster with Bauble Day selected and complete the Kurast Undercity run. Gutter Filth gives Beacon activations a chance to produce that enemy, but merchant access isn't guaranteed on every attempt. Before considering Diablo 4 Items, identify the Runes your next craft actually requires.
How Cabochon Merchant Rune Farming Works
The Cabochon Merchant sells randomized stock that includes Runes and gems for gold. This gives you another purchasing opportunity, not a guaranteed listing for Ber or any other specific Rune.
Inventory refreshes let you spend Forgotten Souls for further chances at useful stock. Treat gold and refresh materials as separate limits on the session.
1 Set Up the Merchant Trigger Before Entering
Your first task is to connect Portal Prankster encounters with the merchant reward. Check the actual Undercity allocation on the character you're taking into the run.
These conditions determine whether the shopping opportunity appears.
• Gutter Filth gives Beacon activations a chance to summon a Portal Prankster.
• Bauble Day makes the Cabochon Merchant appear after the District Boss when you've killed a Portal Prankster during that run.
• Season 15 shares War Plans progression within matching account partitions, but each character has its own point allocation.
Activate Beacons as you progress and prioritize the Prankster when it appears. After securing the kill, focus on completing the run; simply encountering the enemy doesn't satisfy the merchant condition.
2 Set Purchase and Refresh Limits
Your second task is to turn a successful appearance into useful progress without exhausting your resources. Random stock means an expensive shopping session can still end without your target Rune.
Use these facts to set your spending rules.
• The merchant's randomized inventory can include high-value Runes such as Ber.
• Forgotten Souls can refresh the inventory for another purchasing opportunity.
• Gems and Soul Splinters can appear alongside Runes, so not every listing advances your chosen craft.
Write down your required Runes before entering, then choose a gold ceiling and a refresh allowance. Buy toward that specific recipe; a rare listing isn't automatically a useful purchase, particularly when it leaves you short of resources for the remaining ingredients.
What Should You Prepare for Your Next Run
First check Gutter Filth and Bauble Day, then bring a defined Rune shopping list and a spending limit. Those preparations address both uncertainties: reaching the merchant and finding something useful in its stock. For any purchase beyond this farming loop, review Diablo 4 Items for sale against your goals and available budget, keeping the next craft as your decision point.
